Investment Approach

The USAA Intermediate-Term Bond Strategy seeks to provide high current income without undue risk to principal. The principal investment approach is to invest primarily in investment grade securities and at least 80% of assets in debt securities that have a dollar-weighted average portfolio maturity between 3 to 10 years.

Philosophy & Process

The USAA Intermediate-Term Bond Strategy seeks to build, bond-by-bond, a yield-focused portfolio to generate strong total returns while keeping the dollar-weighted maturity between 3 years to 10 years. The Strategy invests primarily in obligations of the U.S., state, and local governments, and their agencies and instrumentalities, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, corporate debt securities, repurchase agreements, and other securities with debt-like characteristics. The Strategy may invest up to 65% of assets in corporate bonds, up to 10% of assets in high-yield securities, and up to 20% of assets in foreign securities.
